Girls Mission Camp was formerly called GA Camp.  Each area association had it's own camp for the
churches in that particular association.  Over time, the camps combined into one week.  We consistently
have churches call and ask if they have to have an ongoing GA group in order to participate in camp.
Obviously, the answer to that is no.  Any church is welcome to bring girls to camp.  So we changed the
camp name to better reflect this.

Girls Mission Camp is still affiliated with the area associations - Guadalupe, Gulf Coast, Colorado,
Galveston, and San Felipe.  These associations are urged to promote Girls Mission Camp to their
churches and encourage their participation.  Churches from outside of these associations are also
welcome to attend.  The Gulf Coast Baptist Association handles our finances for us, though Girls Mission
Camp is funded completely by the camp fees we collect.

About the Director:
Michelle Suarez has been camp director for 5 years.  Michelle is the GA Director for the Gulf Coast Baptist Association as
well as being GA teacher at First Baptist Church, Brazoria. Prior to being camp director, Michelle attended camp as a
sponsor for many years.  She has written many leadership articles for Women's Missionary Union and has written
children's Sunday School curriculum for Lifeway Christian Resources.  Michelle has been involved in many different
areas of children's ministry for many years.

Michelle is a ministry assistant at Texas Port Ministry in Freeport.  Working at a seafarer center for a NAMB appointed
missionary puts her on the front lines of mission work.  She is able to use these experiences, as well as her experience
with children, to teach about missions in a real and personal way.
